About the role:
We are seeking a qualified Utility Arborist to join our experienced team of Utility Arborists who control vegetation growth threatening the electricity distribution network in the North Canterbury region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vegetation trimming around live electricity networks and operate related equipment (e.g., chainsaws, chippers),
- Safely operate vehicles including elevated work platforms and trucks,
- Act as a safety observer near live electrical conductors,
- Read plans and maintain equipment while assisting with manual civil work.
About you:
You’ll be an experienced arborist who is safety conscious, has excellent customer service, strong and physically fit. You are confident working at heights and have a passion for outdoors.
Additionally, you will have
- 2+ years’ work experience in vegetation control work and undertaking tree work near electrical supply lines,
- Level 3 or 4 National Certificate in Arboriculture,
- Minimum current Class-2 heavy vehicle driver’s licence. Class-4 heavy vehicle driver’s licence and T (tracks) and F (forklift) driver licence endorsements desirable.
