About the role:
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our busy Finance team. Our team is responsible for the day-to-day finance function, providing support to the business in the strategic and operational leadership of MainPower and its Group entities.
As an important member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to support both internal operations and external requirements across the Company and its subsidiaries. This role plays a critical part in the weekly and monthly reporting cycles, including the full month-end process—preparing journals, performing reconciliations and ensuring data integrity. A significant focus is placed on managing a high-volume fixed asset register, including disposals, capitalisations and revaluations. The role also contributes to the preparation of annual budgets, year-end financials and audit processes, while supporting continuous improvement in forecasting, financial modelling and budgeting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining general ledger reconciliations, journals and accruals
- Preparation of monthly reports for Network and Field Services including financial and commercial analysis
- Supporting department managers with forecasting
- Maintaining current and accurate fixed asset registers ensuring compliance with relevant account standards etc.
- Contributing to preparation of the annual budget alongside the Finance Business Partner Manager
About you:
You’re an experienced accountant who thrives on partnering with business units to support their accounting and reporting needs. You’ll communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to juggle deadline driven tasks alongside ongoing business requirements.
Additionally, you will bring:
- Either a CA or CPA qualification or be in pursuit of a CA or CIMA qualification
- Proven experience in an intermediate or senior accounting role
- A self-starter with strong analytical and excel skills
- Enthusiastic, driven, professional, and approachable with good relationship building skills
- Enjoy thinking outside of the box and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
