Job Description

About the role:

Take ownership and provide support to the workshop team through the construction, installation and maintenance of Distribution Network structures and equipment.  Work closely with other members of the Workshop and Technician teams to provide customers with cost effective solutions that provide the required level of service.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Construction and installation of distribution substations, switchgear, kiosks and link boxes
  • Installation, inspection, testing, repairs and maintenance of electrical installations; wiring of equipment including circuit breakers, switchgear and transformers
  • Undertake testing, connection and commissioning of HV & LV electrical equipment
  • Locate and repair faults in electrical installations and equipment

About you:

Applicants must hold a current NZ Electrical Registration, and a current EWRB practicing licence.  Proven electrical fitter experience within the electricity supply industry is essential. 

Additionally:

  • Minimum of a class 2 drivers’ licence  
  • Ability to work to written instructions and complete as-built electrical plans
  • Excellent communication, strong customer focus and positive attitude
  • Committed to workplace and public safety
